Claiming Your HOG
If you own a property in BC, you would have received the 2011 Property Tax Notice already. As a property owner, it is your responsibility to pay your Property Tax to the City where the property is. Here are some tips and information you might find helpful:
- Make sure you submit your grant claim and payment by the due date to avoid penalties
- If your mortgage payments include Property Taxes, make sure that you check your tax notice - it should indicate that your mortgage holder has been notified
- Remember that a grant MUST BE SUBMITTED ANNUALLY
- Only registered owners can apply for your grant
- If claiming your grant on-line, be sure to print your confirmation as proof of application, otherwise you might pay penalties for not claiming the grant on time
